The Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation champions the protection and enhancement of the Greenbelt’s agricultural, natural and water resource systems and promotes better understanding of the social, economic and environmental benefits that flow to the public.
Through the Greenbelt and the efficient planning of our towns and cities, we also strive to increase resilience and reduce vulnerabilities to climate change in the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Our grant program harnesses the expertise and supports the ideas and efforts of the public, Indigenous communities, farm organizations and a great diversity of stakeholders to realize these goals.
In Winter 2020, the Foundation is accepting applications for Positively Green, a natural infrastructure program under our Resilient Greenbelt Funding Stream. This program is a collaboration with 13 Greenbelt-area conservation authorities. Details of the funding program can be found here.
Our regular, open grant rounds are expected to resume in Fall 2020. We will update the Foundation’s Grant Guidelines and application deadlines at that time. As a reminder, applications are submitted online through the Foundation’s grant portal.
